It happens every second day or so. #tired #relatable #memes #work
I have too much to do to sleep but I always show up to work tired. What do I do?
Sounds like you’re caught in that cycle of overwork and exhaustion. If you always show up tired, your productivity and well-being are probably taking a hit. A few things to consider:
1. Prioritize & Cut the Unnecessary
You might feel like everything is urgent, but is it really? Try making a list of what actually needs to get done vs. what can wait or be cut entirely. If itโs not moving you toward your goals (like making $55K this year or getting your business running), it might not be worth the late nights.
2. Schedule Sleep Like an Appointment
If youโre not scheduling sleep, itโll always get pushed aside. Try setting a “hard stop” timeโlike 10 PMโwhere all work shuts down, no exceptions. It might feel weird at first, but itโll force you to work smarter, not longer.
3. Leverage Energy Peaks
If you’re naturally more productive at certain times (morning, afternoon, night), use those hours for the most important tasks. Donโt waste high-energy periods on low-value work.
4. Use a “Done-for-the-Day” List
Instead of an endless to-do list, set a realistic number of tasks you must finish before you call it a night. Anything else is extra. This keeps you from working into exhaustion.
5. Outsource or Automate
If your plate is too full, is there anything you can delegate, automate, or eliminate? For example, tools like Zapier, AI assistants, or even hiring cheap freelancers for repetitive tasks might be worth considering.
6. Caffeine vs. Smart Energy Boosts
Relying on caffeine alone will backfire. Try a mix of:
- Short, intense workouts (5-10 min can help)
- Power naps (20 min max)
- Hydration (dehydration = fatigue)
- High-protein snacks instead of just sugar or carbs
7. Track Your Sleep Debt
If youโre always tired, you might be stacking up sleep debt. Apps like Rise Science or Sleep Cycle can show you how much you actually owe your body. Pay it back with longer sleep on weekends or naps when possible.
